Monday, October 3rd, 2011IKEA, the Swedish company is ideally recognized for selling ready-to-assemble furniture at modest costs at its worldwide stores. Now, it is drawing out blueprints for a few more makeovers by powering their U.S. stores with solar energy panel systems. Recently, a solar energy system was installed at its San Gabriel Valley store in Covina, California, which includes an amalgamation of 57,000-square-foot PV array, 451-kW system plus 2,002 panels. IKEA’s enterprising activity will produce 651,800 kWh of clean electricity annually, which is comparable to reducing 495 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) and eradicating the emissions of 88 cars plus powering 55 homes yearly.
