IKEA, the Swedish company is ideally recognized for selling ready-to-assemble furniture at modest costs at its worldwide stores. Now, it is drawing out blueprints for a few more makeovers by powering their U.S. stores with solar energy panel systems. Recently, a solar energy system was installed at its San Gabriel Valley store in Covina, California, which includes an amalgamation of 57,000-square-foot PV array, 451-kW system plus 2,002 panels. IKEA’s enterprising activity will produce 651,800 kWh of clean electricity annually, which is comparable to reducing 495 tons of carbon dioxide (CO₂) and eradicating the emissions of 88 cars plus powering 55 homes yearly.
