The University of Gothenburg has launched a revolutionary tool, that can determine the highest possible magnitude of solar incidence on a roof, a town or the whole city. The scientists have used the city of Gothenburg for this pilot project. The University of Gothenburg has partenered with WSP consultants to develop this GIS system, called ‘SEES’ ( Solar Energy from Existing Structures) that can actually measure the potential of solar roofs to produce solar energy from the panels.
